Your privacy, in plain English

Only what is genuinely needed to build your website, take your order, and answer your questions. Nothing is collected “just in case”.

When you ask for a quote or get in touch. Your name, email address, phone number, business name, and whatever you tell us about the site you want. We keep it so we can reply properly and pick the conversation back up later.

When you create an account or place an order. The details needed to deliver and bill the work: contact details, business details, your domain, and the order itself. Payment is handled by our payment processor, and section 2 covers it.

When you join our email list. Your email address, and only if you asked us to. We use it to send product news, offers, and updates about your projects. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately, and we never pass your address to anyone else.

When you chat with our AI assistant. Whatever you choose to type. See section 5 for exactly where those messages go, and section 2 for the one thing not to put in there.

When you simply browse. Which pages were opened, roughly how long each was on screen, how far you scrolled, and whether you arrived from a search engine or a link. No name attached, because we do not have one.

Please do not type your card number into the chat. The chat is a conversation tool. Your messages pass through our AI provider so it can write a reply, and it was never built to carry payment details. A card number typed there has gone somewhere it does not belong, and we would rather tell you that up front than deal with it afterwards.

The cart is the right place, and it is safe. When you check out, we hand you over to our payment processor and you enter your card on their encrypted checkout page, not on ours. The connection is encrypted end to end, the card fields belong to the processor, and your card number never touches a MrRightSite server. We never see it, we never store it, and we could not produce it if we tried.

What we do keep is the ordinary record of the sale: what you bought, what you paid, when, and the receipt reference our processor gives us. That is what invoices, refunds, and tax records are made of. If you ever think a card number reached us by mistake, email us and we will find it and delete it.

This website uses privacy-first analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Our analytics never store your IP address, set advertising cookies, or follow you across other websites, and we never sell your information to anyone. The data only tells us which pages are useful and how people found us.

Your IP address is converted into an irreversible code the moment it reaches our server and is never written down. That code lets us tell a repeat visit from a new one; it cannot be turned back into an address, and until you tell us who you are we cannot put a name to it.

When you do tell us who you are, by creating an account, placing an order, or signing up for updates, we store the details you give us, and from that point we can connect your email address to the pages you have viewed on this site, including the ones you read before you got in touch. We do this so we can help you properly and send you things worth reading. It applies to this website only; we cannot see what you do anywhere else.

Prefer not to be counted at all?Turn on “Do Not Track” in your browser settings and our analytics switch themselves off completely for you. No pop-up to dismiss, no banner to click, and the site works exactly the same.

We use the bare minimum needed to make the site work: remembering what is in your cart, keeping you signed in if you have an account, and a session code that lives only until you close the tab.

There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers, which is why you have not been asked to dismiss a cookie banner. We would rather not use anything that needs one.

When you use the chat, you are talking to an AI assistant, not a person. It is told so on screen before you type anything. To produce a reply, the conversation is sent to the AI provider that runs the underlying model, which processes it on our behalf and returns the answer. We may keep conversations so we can improve the assistant and follow up with you if you asked us to.

The assistant gives general information about websites, pricing, and what we offer. It does not give legal, financial, medical, insurance, or other professional advice, and its answers should not be relied on as a substitute for a qualified professional or for anything in a signed agreement. It can be wrong. If something it says matters to your decision, ask a human and we will confirm it in writing.

Please keep card numbers, passwords, government ID numbers, health details, and other sensitive personal information out of the chat. We do not ask for any of it, and we do not want it sitting in a transcript.

A short list of trusted companies helps us run the business. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job, and none of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes:

• Our payment processor, to take payment and issue invoices and refunds
• Our AI provider, to generate the chat assistant’s replies
• Our database and hosting providers, to actually run the website and store our records
• Our email provider, to deliver the messages you asked for

We never sell your personal information, and we never share it for cross-context behavioural advertising which are the two things California law uses those words to mean. The only other time we would hand anything over is when the law genuinely requires it, such as a valid court order, or to protect someone’s safety. If we are ever bought or merge with another company, your information may transfer with the business, and this policy travels with it.

Most of what we do is build and host websites for other businesses. On those sites, the business that hired us decides what is collected and why. They are the ones responsible for their visitors’ information, and their own privacy policy governs it. We handle that data only on their instructions, to operate and maintain the site we built.

The privacy-first analytics described in section 3 work the same way on every site we manage. If you are a visitor to a client’s website and want your information removed, the fastest route is to contact that business directly; if you contact us instead, we will pass your request on to them.

Order, invoice, and tax records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require, and nothing longer. Client project files and account records are kept for the life of the engagement and a reasonable period after, so we can support work we delivered. Some clients in regulated industries are required to retain records for longer, and where their agreement says so, we hold those records for that period on their behalf.

Enquiries and chat transcripts are kept only as long as they are useful for answering you and improving the assistant. If you have never ordered, never signed up, and never contacted us, we do not hold anything that identifies you at all.

Email us at any time and we will act on it. No forms, no hoops, no asking why. We will not treat you any differently for asking.

See it. Ask what we hold about you and we will send it over.

Correct it. Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.

Delete it. Ask us to remove you and we will, except where we are legally required to keep order and tax records.

Stop the emails. Use the unsubscribe link, or just tell us. Either works.

Depending on where you live, these rights may also be guaranteed to you by law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and equivalent rules elsewhere. We extend them to everyone who asks, regardless of where they live, because keeping two standards would be more work than simply doing the right one. We do not sell personal information, and we do not collect the categories California calls sensitive personal information, so there is nothing for you to opt out of. If you would like that confirmed in writing, ask and we will confirm it.

This is a business-to-business website and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Connections to this site are encrypted, access to our records is limited to the people who need it, and payment card details never reach us in the first place. That said, no website, database, or email system can promise perfect security, and any policy that claims otherwise is not being straight with you. What we can promise is that we do not hold what we do not need, we do not keep it longer than we should, and if something ever did go wrong with your information we would tell you promptly rather than quietly.

Our site links out to other places: client websites, scheduling tools, our payment processor, social profiles. Once you follow a link, you are on someone else’s website under someone else’s privacy policy, and this one no longer applies. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so it is worth a glance at their policy before handing anything over.

If what we do with your information changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top will tell you when. We do not make changes retroactively without telling you: if a change materially affects information we already hold about you, we will say so directly rather than leaving you to spot a new date.
